Brochure Map of Vyborg сreated in collaboration with Trimoti Travel Service (2022).
This illustrated brochure-map serves as a companion to the Vyborg audio guide, blending navigation, storytelling, and art into a memorable keepsake. As the lead illustrator, my task was to create a functional yet visually captivating piece that:
-
Enhances the tour experience – Illustrations visually complement the audio guide’s facts, bringing history to life.
-
Acts as a practical city map – Highlights key landmarks and routes for easy navigation.
-
Doubles as a decorative souvenir – Designed to be displayed as artwork after the tour.
Part of a larger series (The St. Petersburg, The Savior on Spilled Blood, The Peterhof), this brochure focuses on Vyborg’s iconic castle and its rich history. The double-sided design features:
-
Side 1: A detailed city map marking architectural landmarks and historic sites.
-
Side 2: An illustrated deep-dive into Vyborg Castle, including its facade, floor plan, and intriguing historical anecdotes.
To add playful charm, the "Ghost" character appears throughout, sharing mystical tales tied to each location. The illustrations also weave in atmospheric vignettes of period scenes, immersing viewers in Vyborg’s past.

Team Collaboration & Design Approach.
This project brought together a diverse team of specialists including a project manager, screenwriter, layout designer, methodologist, and myself as lead illustrator. Together, we shaped every aspect of the experience - from determining the brochure's physical format and packaging to crafting its narrative voice and visual storytelling.
Our collaborative process led to exciting discoveries about Vyborg's rich history. As we researched, we uncovered fascinating facts about the city's buildings and landmarks - stories so compelling we wanted visitors to experience them immediately. That's why we designed the brochure to function as a standalone experience: even before playing the audio guide, readers can immerse themselves in Vyborg's past through carefully curated historical references, architectural details, and local legends woven throughout the illustrations.
